INSULATING GLASS

Insulvue®
The Insulating Glass You Can Count On.

Syracuse Glass has been making Insulvue® insulating glass since 1973. As a licensee in the Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC), our product is certified to the highest level of performance, according to ASTM E2190 (formerly E773 and E774) standards. IGCC conducts semi-annual, unannounced plant inspections, independent laboratory testing, and a review of our quality program and record-keeping to validate the use of IGCC labels on our products.

Insulvue® is the top of the line in insulating glass in terms of seal longevity and structural integrity. Insulvue’s dual-seal construction is characterized by an induction-welded, anodized, uninterrupted, aluminum airspace with four “bent” corners, the hallmark benefit of Lisec insulating glass equipment which is widely held to be among the world’s best.

The primary seal is polyisobutylene (PIB), the most effective barrier to moisture vapor and water. Our secondary seal consists of polysulfide for conventionally glazed applications, or silicone for structural-glazed applications.

We offer thermally broken airspace material for "Warm Edge" energy efficiency and structural integrity

Insulvue® units are warrantied against seal failure for 10 years in vertically glazed applications, and for 5 years in sloped-glazed openings. This limited warranty is available upon request.

Syracuse offers numerous aesthetic and performance options. Regular annealed, tempered or laminated glass, clear or in colors (bronze, gray, dark gray, green, dark green, blue-green and blue)—with or without reflective coatings—can be combined with clear or medium or high performance “soft coat” Low-E or obscure glass. Size ranges from 7” x 14” to 96” x 137”. Our production software manages this complexity, and produces an acknowledgment, faxed directly from our fax server at the time of order entry.

Muntin Experts

Our fabricators are proficient at “fussy” muntin work, which most commercial insulators avoid doing or do poorly. We offer in-house fabrication of standard 5/8” colonial muntins in white, bronze, aluminum, tan or Hartford green, as well as white contoured muntins.

IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION ON GLASS PRODUCTS !

Check out our Tempered Glass Logos or our Insulating Glass Spacers.

Many of our products have three numbers – the order number, line number, and piece number.  This permanent label is applied by a laser, with unique identification information from our powerful FENEVISION software.

With this information, one can determine the exact size, exact glass make-up, the delivery date, or pricing - either by contacting our office, or from our website directly – even at a job site using a smart phone!

TEMPERED GLASS THAT REFLECTS WELL ON YOU!

Our new state-of-the-art Glaston FC-500 tempering furnace makes the flattest, best looking tempered glass available anywhere! We are the second glass fabricator in the nation to install this new technology.

In addition to the full convection and precise computer controls engineered into this furnace by industry leader Glaston of Finland, we’ve added a Lite Sentry optical distortion measurement scanner. Each piece we produce is photographed and evaluated for deviation from flatness on line, in real time, and the results are immediately displayed for our furnace operators.

As a result, we can fine tune the furnace settings, and produce very flat tempered glass, even glass with high performance solar control low emissivity coatings, which are very challenging to heat evenly because of the way the coatings reflect heat energy.

We’re serious about producing high quality tempered glass. In 2002, Syracuse Glass bought a UNIGLASS full convection tempering furnace, the second in the US, and the first full convection furnace in our market area, and now also featuring a Lite Sentry scanning device. We continue to invest and improve our processes to maintain the quality advantage that we’ve earned over the years.
